Disaster Preparedness Awareness, 2012

PFF Board made a decision to make Disaster Preparedness as its goal. Foundation has partnered with Tulare County Medical Reserve Corps in promoting awareness for the need for Disaster Preparedness, recruiting volunteers for the Reserve Corps, arranging the regular training for the various aspects of post disaster management and facilitating local exercises in collaboration with the local hospital, school district, and the city administration.

For its many efforts and involvements, the Foundation received a National Award from the Division of Civilian Volunteer Corps. Of the 71 nominations nationally, PFF was one of the 18 to receive an honor as an Outstanding Partner Organization, 2013. Dr. Pandya went to Washington DC in June 2013 to receive the award at the hand of Deputy Surgeon General of USA.

PFF is currently involved in monthly meetings for the training of volunteers. Disaster Preparedness will be an ongoing project for a long time to come.
